Surfboard Repair Video: As a teacher, using technology is important in the evolution of education. Education has used videos since they were invented, but personal videos is relatively new. As an educator, the ability to create your own videos is a tremendous way of teaching students exactly what you want them to learn. In the past, teachers needed to constantly fast foward and rewind to use videos to teach a class. Now instead of finding specific segments within the video, teachers can create a video using only what they want to use. As a Technology teacher, I can constantly use this medium. Not only will I be teachng how to use it, but I can use it to explain and demonstrate concepts. The beauty of using a video, is students can repeat it as much as necessary until they understand the presentation. Some project examples are as follows: Construction, electrical theory, video editing, adobe workshops, and printing. The standards that using this lesson would achieve are:Standards: 1. Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and AssessmentsTeachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments incorporating contemporary tools and resources tomaximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the NETS•S. Teachers:a. design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativityb. develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable all students to pursue their individual curiosities and becomeactive participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning, and assessing their own progressc. customize and personalize learning activities to address students’ diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities usingdigital tools and resourcesd. provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technologystandards and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching3.
